Points2shop is a free online rewards program with over 6 million members. According to Points2Shop, it is one of the most popular free loyalty programs. A pair known as Matjong and Littlerose founded it in 2007.
They explain that the drive was to create a fun and fair GPT site for members to enjoy. Thus, Points2Shop is more than a survey site; it is a GPT (Get Paid To) site.
That is, it is a website that helps you make money online from many more ways than just completing surveys. The activities you can earn from include surveys, playing games, signing up to websites, downloading apps, and more.
Points2Shop combines a points and cash system. That is, for some activities it rewards members with cash, but for other activities, it rewards members with points. While the “points + cash” system is used by many other GPT sites, Points2Shop differs markedly from the other GPT sites around.

We have the power to force them into rectifying their faults. However, we cannot do anything if you try to trick the system. Just make sure you comply with their rules and regulations to make it easier for us.
In the other GPT sites, points can be converted to cash; but in Points2Shop, points do not convert to cash. Rather points earned can be redeemed for millions of prizes in Amazon. Hence the name Points2Shop! You complete tasks, and earn points; then you can use these points to shop in Amazon through the Points2Shop’s website.
The big question in this Points2Shop review is whether it is a site where you can actually make money or not.
That is; can you actually do your side hustle with Point2Shop to earn some extra income, or will your stay on the website amount to wasted time and effort? How does Points2Shop differ from other rewards sites in the business? Does Points2Shop offer the service that we’ll expect of the ideal rewards site (such as many earning opportunities, low minimum cashout amount, fast payment, effective customer service, etc)?
In the first place, is Points2Shop legit or is it just another scam site that’ll rip you off and waste your time?
This Points2Shop review will further examine the reward site in order to provide the information that will help you answer these questions and more.
Yes, Points2shop is legit. It is not a scam because they will never steal your money or deny your payment. And you can also find its payment proofs all over the internet, as you can see some below.

What is Points2Shop?
Is Points2Shop legit?
Many rewards sites are simply a waste of time, while others are just scam fronts to rip people off. Thus, before jumping into any rewards site, it’s wise to determine that it is legit. Therefore, the big question is whether Points2Shop is legit. The simple answer to that is yes. The longer answer is that the site is 100% legal, it has industry-wide recognition, and it has a long operating history of actually rewarding members with cash and non-cash prizes.
Our first check of a legit rewards site is usually legality. This is because a site that is backed by a robust company that is 100% legal is less likely to be a scam. In this regard, the website is owned and operated by Points2Shop LLC. This is a 100% legal company that is duly registered in Georgia (US). Suffice it to say that scam platforms do not bother with company registration certificates.
Another check of a legit reward site is industry-wide recognition. This is because the scam platforms operate in the shadows. Interestingly, Point2Shop ticks this box. It boasts of over 10 million users; and in its Facebook page, it has some 250,000 followers. Suffice it to say that a scam reward site will not have such followership.
Another check of a legit rewards site is the test of time. This is because scam stores are short-lived. With time there true identities are exposed; and with such exposure, they disappear. Interestingly, Points2shop passes this test, as it has been operating since 2007. Suffice it to say that a scam store cannot continue operating with the same front for over a decade.
The ultimate check of a legit rewards site is fitness for purpose. This means that it is only legit rewards sites that actually pay members for participation in activities, but scam sites will either leave members out of pocket or waste members’ time without paying for their effort. Thankfully, Points2Shop ticks this “fitness for purpose” box. At the time of writing this review, Points2Shop has paid out $12,556,793 to its members; and you’ll find payment proof in many different sources.
That said; with Points2Shop.com operated by a 100% legal company, with it having a robust following, and with it having a robust operating record of actually paying its members, there’s no doubt that it is a legit GPT site.
Is Points2Shop safe?
Points2Shop is safe. GPT site usually requires very sensitive information that includes full names, contact details, billing address, birth date, and more. Thus, it is not enough that the site is legit. It also has to be safe, in ensuring that whatever sensitive information you share with it will be adequately protected and prevented from leaking out into the wrong hands.
In this regard, Points2Shop says that the company has implemented security policies, rules, and technical measures to protect users’ data. It adds that its designs and operates the service with the protection of users’ privacy in mind.
Though Points2Shop does not give the details of the security measures it uses, it assures that your information is safe and available to only internal billing and processing staff. Also, there’s no reason to suggest otherwise. For example, though you’ll find complaints about the reward site, you’ll be hard-pressed to find any that mentions safety. Thus, it’s safe to say that Points2Shop is safe.
Using Points2Shop
To use Points2Shop, you’ll have to register and create an account. It is free to do. Registration is supposed to be a simple process. In the registration page in the website, you’ll have to nominate a username and a password, as well as an email address; then click “create your account”.
For some weird reasons, ours (the account opened for the purpose of this review) will not open. Maybe if we weren’t on a mission, we would have packed up and left the platform, but we persisted; and finally, our account was opened.
One thing we loved as we log in was that Points2Shop shows the number of users that are currently online. With that, you’ll know how active the site is. Statistics of total membership can be deceptive because they could be reflecting past glories. So the actual number of persons using the site at the same time as you is a fine addition to have.
After your account is created, you’ll need to fill out a profile questionnaire. This is especially important if you plan to earn from the site by completing surveys. Surveys are targeted at particular profiles (you shouldn’t expect to answer a survey about hair care products if you are bald). Thus, the profile survey establishes your profile and will be used to target surveys for you that you’re more likely to qualify for.
Another important thing is that Points2Shop has membership levels. When you join, you’re started as a “new user”; when you verify your address you’re moved to the “bronze” level; the levels that follow are silver, gold, platinum, elite, diamond, and legend. Getting to a new level will require meeting a set of different demands, and with each higher level that you get to open up more benefits. For example:
- Silver level – fill in all demographics, complete at least 10 offers, earn at least $10 by completing offers, and have no more than 5% of your offers denied by an administrator. Among the benefits is that members can challenge others to compete in one-on-one games
- For Gold level – earn at least $25 by completing offers, must have requested at least one payment, and the last payment request must be at least 2 months old. The benefits of the Gold level include receiving instant PayPal payments, having additional offers, and being able to donate points
- For the Platinum level – earn at least $100 by completing offers, and have at least 10 referrals. The benefits of the Platinum level include a 250-point bonus, and being able to earn money by helping others in the “helper system”
- For Elite level – earn at least $400 by completing offers, and you must have been a member for 9 months. The benefits include a 250 points bonus
- For Diamond level – earn at least $800 by completing offers, have at least 50 referrals, and must have been a member for 12 months.
- For Legend level – earn at least $1,600 by completing offers, have at least 100 referrals, and must have been a member for 16 months. One benefit include is a 250 points bonus
In many other rewards sites with membership levels, levelling up is simply by earning points. Thus, with the other demands of Points2Shop, levelling up and opening up the benefits of higher membership levels is relatively difficult.
Earning Potential
The ideal GPT site should offer a variety of ways to earn. Thankfully, Points2Shop ticks this box, as you can earn points and cash from completing many simple online tasks. These include taking surveys, completing offers, playing games, and more
1). Surveys
Surveys are usually the champion earning an opportunity in GPT sites, and it is not different in Points2Shop. Like almost every other GPT site, Points2Shop partners with a lot of survey panels to offer a good amount of surveys in the site. However, it should be said that surveys are geo-targeted, so your country of residence will largely determine how many survey opportunities will be available to you.
Generally, surveys have the highest payouts in GPT sites, and it is not different in Points2Shop. Thus, if you’ll want to maximize earnings on this rewards site, you’ll have to check for and complete as many surveys as possible.
One good thing about Points2Shop is that before taking a survey, you’ll find how much it will pay you and how much time it’ll take to complete. Thus, you’ll know whether it’s worth it. It must also be said that Points2Shop surveys pay relatively well.
You can expect to earn between $0.20 and $2.00 per survey you complete. However, members do not always qualify for surveys. You may find yourself attempting a bunch of surveys before qualifying for one that you’ll take to complete.
2). Games
Another way you can earn in Points2Shop is by playing games. There is no limit to the fun that you can have here. The games include a game of chance as well as games requiring a level of skill and strategy. There are games to play yourself, and there are other games where you’ll be paired with real-life players (with your skills level).
Before playing any game, you’ll find how many points/ cash it will net you. While there are free games; there are others that’ll require you to use your points to buy a spot, but these pay-to-play games usually have higher rewards.
3). Offers
Offers are another earning avenue in Points2Shop. Like you have it in the other GPT sites, the offerwalls are third parties with a host of activities that you can do to earn. When you click on any of the offers, you are taken to the page of the third party to complete the offer, but after completion, you are paid in your Points2Shop account. You’ll find lots and lots of offers. These could include extra surveys, as well as watching videos, visiting and signing up on other sites, downloading apps, playing games, and more.
Many of the tasks in the Offerwalls have relatively low payouts. For example, while surveys can pay 200 points, many offers will net 5 – 50 points. However, sometimes some offers will pay very high, even higher than the regular surveys; but most often than not, these high-paying offers will require a purchase. You’ll know pay-to-do offers immediately, as they usually request your credit card information. Usually, pay-to-do offers have high payouts.
If you feel that the rewards more than cover what you’ll pay; they may be a good way to quickly earn cash or points. There are some “free” offers that’ll still require that you submit credit card information. With these sets, you’ll be charged after the free trial period. So if you submit your credit card information for a free offer; and will not want to be charged later on, make sure to cancel before the trial period is over.
4). Referral
With the relatively small earnings that the rewards site brings, you’ll need to be very active in a reward site for any shot at a significant earning. Thus, the opportunity to earn something passively is always welcomed. Points2Shop allows you to earn passive income via its referral program. You’ll not have to do anything extra to earn. Simply promote your unique referral link; and when persons click on your link to get to points2Shop and join, you’ll earn.
Another good thing is the number of earnings possible from referrals. First, when persons join Points2Shop using your referral link, you’ll get $0.50 when they verify their email and another $0.50 when they complete their first offer. That’s $1.0 in your account already.
Apart from this, you’ll also earn a percentage of the earnings of your referrals. In this regard, Points2hop offers a 3-tier bonus program, where you can earn 15% from your direct referrals, 3% from their own referrals, as well as 2% from the referrals of the last group. That is; you invite A, who invites B, who invites C; you’ll earn 15% of what A earns, 3% of what B earns, and 2% of what C earns. With earnings from multiple referral levels, you can use the referral program to build a good passive income.
However, while the 3-levels of the referral program may make it look very generous, a closer look shows that it is not so generous. This is because earnings that are eligible are only those from Points2Shop offers; all earnings from offers hosted by external offer groups are not eligible.
That is, if your referrals complete offers from Offerwalls (such as PeanutLabs, Gambit, etc), you won’t receive any referral bonus. This means that users may not receive any bonuses for huge parts of referral earnings. It also does not help to know that in many of the rewards sites out there earnings from both in-house offers and external offers are eligible for a referral bonus.
5). Contest
One way to earn well in Points2Shop is via its contests. However, these contests are simply rewarded programs for the top earners. The top 10 earners on the website in the contest period are rewarded with cash prizes, from $15 for the first position to $1.00 for the tenth position.
Other Features
Welcome Bonus
One of the good things about Points2Shop is that you start earning even before you do any earning activity. This is via its welcome bonus. Upon joining Points2Shop, you’ll be rewarded with 250 points.
Availability
There is no one that will not want that opportunity to be able to earn a little extra money. Thus, almost everyone everywhere will want to take advantage of the earning opportunities of rewards sites or GPT sites.
Thankfully, Points2Shop is a GPT site that accepts members from everywhere in the world. However, where you are resident will greatly influence how much you can make in the site, as many surveys and other earning activities are geo-targeted. Also, your location in the world will also play a big part in your flow of activities in the site.
This is because you can only redeem your points for prizes if you are resident in the US, Canada, or the UK. That is, the “shopping from Amazon through Points2Shop” that the reward site pioneers is only limited to members in these three countries. Thus, if you are a member outside these countries, you may have to complete tasks and offers that pay with cash, instead of those that pay with points.
To use Points2Shop, you’ll have to be 18 years of age. Persons under 18 (but not less than 13) can also join, but only with permission obtained from a parent or guardian.
Mobile compatibility
With mobile devices being portable, they allow users to access the internet from anywhere and at any time. Thus, users want rewards sites that work well with mobile devices so that they’ll be able to take surveys and do tasks and earn wherever and whenever.
Thankfully, Points2Shop ticks all the boxes in this regards. It is not only compatible with mobile devices, but it is mobile-optimized. This means that when accessing Points2Shop with your mobile devices, the web page resizes to fit the screen of your devices.
Another important thing is that Points2Shop is one GPT site out there that has developed mobile apps. It’s often mentioned that the Points2Shop website is not the most user-friendly, but the mobile apps do well to ease those concerns. It is definitely friendlier to use than the website, and it offers other benefits such as swift access and personalization. The Android and iOS apps are available for download in the respective app stores.
Apart from being more user-friendly, there is more reason to use the app if you plan to earn using Points2Shop. This reason is that members who download the app are rewarded with $0.10.
Getting Paid
Points2Shop Payment Proofs
There is no doubt that Points2Shop pays its members. Over $12.5 million (in cash and prizes) has been paid out by Points2Shop since it was started. You’ll find lots of payment proofs and testimonials on the website. However, if you do not trust self-published claims, you’ll be more than satisfied with the evidence from a lot of external (independent) sources if you search for “Point2Shop payment proofs”.
Below are some Points2shop’s Payment proofs:
Reward Catalog
As mentioned earlier, Points2Shop focus is rewarding its users with points with which they can shop on amazon.com. In its reward catalogue, Points2Shop allows you to redeem points for products on amazon.com. Thus, the reward catalogue holds virtually anything you’ll want to buy online. On the shopping page, you’ll find a search button where you can type in the name of a product to see if it’s available for purchase on Amazon.
It’ll bring up many products related to your search enquiries. You can then request the product, and Points2Shop will proceed to order the product for you. For cash rewards, you have the option of requesting payment via PayPal.
Also, if you are not totally satisfied with the product that is delivered to you, Point2Shop allows you to contact them within 72 hours of receiving the product, and a resolution will be worked out. Also, if you do not receive your product within 3 weeks of the request, you should contact Points2Shop immediately, and the reward site will be able to reship or refund your order.
Payment Threshold
One of the first things that users look at on the rewards sites is the payment threshold. They always want to know how much will be earned before payment can be requested. Needless to say, everyone will want a minimum cashout amount that is as low as possible. Thankfully, Points2Shop more than ticks this box, as you can request to be paid with only $1.00 in earnings.
Speed of Payment
After requesting payment, you’ll not want it to take too long before receiving your cash payment or Amazon prize. In this regard, Points2Shop also does relatively well. When requesting cash payment, you’re sure to receive a payment within 48 hours; sometimes it’ll even be within 24 hours. It’s even better for members who have reached the Gold level and above; as they qualify to receive instant PayPal payments when they withdraw cash earnings via PayPal.
When Amazon prizes are requested, Points2Shop also does well in terms of fast delivery. Points2Shop advertises that it delivers most products within 5 – 7 days of the request. Another important thing is that when you request Amazon prizes, you can get free shipping. With many of the prizes, you’ll find “eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping” next to the price. You’ll also be able to track your orders. However, it is only US members that get tracking numbers for their orders.
Customer Support Service
You shouldn’t wait till you need help before you determine if a platform renders help to its members. Thus, it’s important to determine whether a rewards site has an effective support service for handling the questions and issues that customers will have.
In this regard, Points2Shop has a knowledge base for self-help. The knowledgebase has 5 sections – General, Membership, Offers, Amazon, and Referral. Each section holds answers to different frequently asked questions. So you’re likely to find answers to many of the questions that you may have. However, if you’ll need to directly contact a customer support person, Points2Shop supports a ticketing system.
The effectiveness of support service is gauged by (i) response time and (ii) helpfulness of response. On the former, Points2Shop is not known for swift responses to support tickets. It may take up to 5 days to receive a reply when you contact Customer Service.
In an era where GPT sites are working to provide a swift response (in under 24 hours) to support tickets, the 3 – 5 days that it takes Points2Shop to respond to tickets comes out as relatively long. However, if you have the patience to wait, you’ll find that their responses are largely helpful. Reviews in different platforms suggest that customers who reach out and patiently wait and do as advised usually have their issues resolved.
Points2Shop Complaints
If you want to know how healthy a service provider is, you’ll look out for what other customers have to say about it. Too many complaints could be a “red light” that things are not very well, but very few complaints could be the “green light” that it is worth giving a try.
So for this section, we looked at some of the top online independent customer reviews platforms like www.trustpilot.com and www.sitejabber.com. Points2Shop had relatively good ratings; at the time of writing this review, in Sitejabber it was rated by 144 reviewers and given a rating of 3.3 out of 5; and in Trustpilot, it was rated by 17 reviewers and given a rating of 2.5 out of 5. Some of the complaints that easily stood out from the customer’s reviews included: banning accounts and not receiving credits for surveys.
Banning Users
Almost one of three negative reviews of Points2Shop that you’ll find is of a user complaining about being banned. For example:
- John A in Sitejabber says “Scam website, I am a platinum member and been with Points2Shop for 6 years and they’ve banned me for no reason. I can’t even access the site anymore. Stay away from this site”
- Pravin Khatri in Trustpilot says “Don’t trust them. They blocked my account when I claimed a £25 Amazon.co.uk gift card over two months ago…”
- Bobby A in Trustpilot says “Banned twice, these scumbags are a huge joke. They may be based in Atlanta, but I am about to think they are Iraquian morons…”
- Dong Y in Sitejabber says “…I joined them yesterday, installed their app, and so far only get 4 points, then be banned today for no reason! I even have not done any surveys. On the other hand, maybe I should feel lucky”
- Dalton J in Sitejabber says “Avoid at all costs (Unfair Restrictions and Bans)” The review continued “This site was really nice over the years until they decided to unfairly ban and restrict account for the pettiest things. Yes, I know some of the accounts were using fraudulent information, but most were very legit users…”
In this regard, it should be said that Points2Shop makes it clear that it “has the right to close any account that is committing fraudulent activities, has fake account information, multiple accounts, or other reasons that violate the Terms of Service”.
To be fair to Points2Shop, some users who complain of being blocked violated the Terms of Service in one way or the other. For example, one user complaining in Trustpilot had “accidentally” had VPN open in the background. The ban was for “using VPN or proxy”. Another user complained about his/ her account being hacked into. The ban was for using bots for referrals.
However, many of the accounts that are banned are accounts of very legit users. This is clear to see as some persons who got blocked and had the patience to see out the unblocking process finally get their accounts open again.
So when users complain of being banned for “no reason”. It is often true. It is understandable that Points2Shop would have had suspicions to block an account. But the frequency of these complaints means that it is becoming really frustrating for users, so they need to tone down their suspicions or act on more than just suspicions.
Surveys not crediting
One of the most common complaints you’ll find is that sometimes survey takers do not receive credits for surveys. For example:
- B&B in Trustpilot says “…unfortunately, as of late, there’s a problem with the site, and that is with crediting for completed (internal) surveys. There is a known problem and it’s been stated by a moderator that it’s more complicated, thus requiring more time to fix the problem. More and more time. The site is barely usable and [I’m] unable to participate with enjoyment as I once have. Additionally, it’s not guaranteed that my completed surveys will result in credits I have earned, even after an audit is performed once this problem is fixed”
- Todd GPT in Trustpilot says “…The your-surveys platform that y’all own needs revamping like seriously. Firstly, we get cents for 30 – 60 minutes surveys. Then y’all decide to do maintenance whenever; the servers are down and I get no credit for my work. This happens every day now. Tell me, is that right. Put yourself in our shoes and see how you like it. Do you know how much credit I’m missing? But every month is reversals; what about my missing credits. Now today, I have no idea what’s going on. Did 10 offers point, still says zero…”
- Eric W in Sitejabber says “I have earned about $94 on this site and I have to say that my time spent making that was absolutely miserable the entire time I was doing the surveys and tasks… The worst part of it is that you are not guaranteed to qualify for each survey; you will have to fill out demographics and see if they match with the survey, but the surveys do not scan your demographics before you take them, so you have to wait to go to the page that has the demographic question and if you are 1% or 99% done with the survey you can be DQ’ed at any time for any reason even ones that are not apparent. So you can be 60 min into a survey and they can ask you a question at the very end, if you don’t match what they are looking for, BAM. Congrats bro, you just wasted an hour of my life with no compensation whatsoever…”
From the reviews, it can be seen that the problem of not crediting survey takers is in two parts. The first is not receiving credits for completed surveys. This shouldn’t be happening with a legit survey site. Points2Shop realizes this and comments that “the issue” is related to a third party and that the company is working with the third party to resolve it. Points2Shop adds that it has made significant progress, such that it should now be crediting the user for all completed surveys.
The second part of the complaint about not being credited for surveys relates to users who are disqualified from surveys. As mentioned earlier, surveys are targeted at particular profiles; so if into the survey, you are found not to be an appropriate match, you’ll be disqualified and not allowed to take it to completion; and for not completing the survey, you won’t be credited.
What makes it a problem is the frequency and timing of disqualifications. That is, sometimes users attempt many surveys and do not qualify for any; also sometimes users go far into the survey, even almost completing it, before they are disqualified.
It should be said that disqualification from surveys is not peculiar with the only Points2Shop. It is something that you’ll have to contend with in virtually all survey sites. However, in many survey sites, operators realize that it hurt survey takers to be kicked out of surveys after spending so much time in surveys, so they compensate with a few points for disqualifications.
Unfortunately, Points2Shop does not compensate survey takers that are kicked out of surveys. Thus, you’ll have wasted those precious times you spent on a survey if you are kicked out and do not take it to completion.
Pros
- It is completely free to use
- Operate a mobile-optimized website, and has free Android and iOS apps
- Accept membership from every country
- Offers a variety of ways to earn from
- You can redeem points by purchasing cool stuff from the vast variety in Amazon.com
- The minimum cashout amount is very low (just $1.00)
- Payment is relatively fast when you request

- Points cannot be converted to cash
- You can only shop with your points if resident in the US, Canada, and the UK
- Tracking numbers are provided for the UK and Canadian orders
- The rate of disqualification from surveys seems high
- Does not compensate with any points if users are disqualified from surveys

Conclusion
Points2Cash is one of the GPT (Get Paid To) sites out there. As its name suggests, the focus of Points2Shop is on rewarding members with points with which they can shop on Amazon; but it also gives cash rewards.
You’ll find a host of activities to earn cash and points; which includes surveys, offers, games, and more. Interestingly, you won’t have to work too much before you can request payment. With only $1.00 in earnings, you can request a PayPal payment or an Amazon prize.
However, Points2Shop is not without its bumps. For example, it ships Amazon prizes to only US, UK, and Canada. And since points do not convert to cash, if you’re outside the US, UK, or Canada, you may have to limit yourself to only offers that pay with cash.
Then there’s the problem of qualification for surveys. You may try many surveys and be kicked out of them, and Points2Shop does not compensate you with any points when disqualified from surveys. Then there’s also the issue of accounts being blocked. Thankfully, when you reach out to customer support service, you’ll receive needed help, albeit it may not come quick.
That said; there is no doubt that Points2Shop is a legit GPT site where you can do simple online tasks and get rewards in cash and Amazon prizes.
