Overall
Pinterest review is the review of Pinterest that tells you whether Pinterest is legit or scam, real, safe or fake. And also Pinterest complaints, rating, customers reviews and feedback.
So, if you are looking for the best and unbiased Pinterest reviews, you have come to the right place.
Remember back in the days when our grandparents and our parents would tear out pages from a magazine and cut out pictures from cardboard boxes, fliers and virtually anything in print that caught their attention and then use save these cut out images by glueing them to a book or pinning them to a board and eventually, this book or board becomes their source of inspiration whenever they are in a dilemma?
Do you wonder why you see less and less of that scrapbook or scrap board every day? Well, Technology happened and we have a digital way to keep all the ideas that want without having to worry about the longevity and the time spent organizing a scrapbook. This technology and innovation are what we will be discussing in this article with the main subject being Pinterest and its other alternatives.
WHAT IS PINTEREST ALL ABOUT?
Pinterest is a highly visual social network platform that gives their users the opportunity to find and save new ideas, interests or inspiration by viewing the images and videos posted by other users. These videos and images can be saved to your own account but in this application, this process is called “Pinning” and the place where you pin these ideas to is called your “Board” but we will get to talk about all that later in this article.
Pinterest allows its users to utilize the highly visual nature of the application to share photos that relate to lifestyle, your interests, your work and your passion and also allow you to discover people who share those same interests with you.
Their goal is to “Connect everyone in the world through the things that they find interesting.” With Pinterest, you can also do the same things that you would normally do with a basic social media application like commenting on the pins of other users, following the boards of other users or friends, liking the pins of other users, sharing the pins of other users across other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and also Email, repining the content of other users to your own board and also implanting some pins from the application to your blog or website.
In 2013, Pinterest achieved some really huge milestones because surprisingly, they outgrew the use of Email as a medium of sharing stuff. At that time too, they outperformed Facebook too. All of this was gained as a result of the 80% female membership population they had at the time.
Now, Pinterest is one of the social network platforms that is really growing speedily in terms of sharing content online and a lot of individuals and even businesses are realizing the benefits of Pinterest and leveraging on those benefits to display their products to a wider range of audience and hence increase the clientele database.
With Pinterest, both large scale and medium scale enterprises get the chance to create engagements with their customers with the use of beautiful infographics, great visual content and persuasive images thereby increasing their brand awareness, level of sales and online leads.
The Ideas that are shared on this platform could be in the form of anything like recipes to DIY’s, clothing, fashion, renovation ideas and child name ideas. It could be anything so long as it interests you. On Pinterest, these ideas are called “Pins” and a Pin always includes an image or video, a description of the content and a link to the source of the image on the internet which could be a website or a blog.
Most times, when a user clicks on the link attached to a pin, they are led to a page where they can get more information about that image. Users are allowed to add anything to their Pinterest board from any website using the Pinterest extensions for browsers and immediately a Pin is added, other users get to see the Pin on their feed or when they search for anything related to the Pin.
So, even though the general public refers to Pinterest as a social network, Pinterest is quite different from other social networks in the sense that other social networks involves their users putting up images and content about themselves and their lifestyle whether professional or personal so those networks like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat are platforms where you want to display the best of yourself to the world while Pinterest is the place you want to come to when you need ideas and inspiration on how to become the best of yourself.

HOW PINTEREST WORKS
Pinterest can be used in two ways, for business use and for personal use and in this article, we will talk about how to utilize this application in both ways but for now, just think of this platform as a huge collection of images where every single image connects you to another source where you can find out more about the image. Now, whenever you come across an image that intrigues you and you want to keep this image, you’ll need to get the image pinned to a board on this application – just like grandma pinning those scrap papers to a pinboard on the wall. As you cut out more images, you also get the opportunity to save them on different boards. You can also decide to organize these Pins and sort your boards into categories or topics to make it easier to find a Pin when you need to. This means you can have different boards for different things like a board for cake recipes and another one for clothing accessories and yet another one for puppy kernel ideas. So basically, Pinterest is one of the digital ways of viewing and storing ideas called “Pins” in a way that helps you find them easily called “Boards”.
So, you can use Pinterest to save the ideas that you want to keep and products you would want to purchase. You can also use Pinterest to create bookmarks on articles that you would want to read at a later date and collaborate with your friends. For now, let us demystify the terminologies associated with this platform.
PINS: As I mentioned earlier, a Pin is an image or visual content that represents an idea on Pinterest and a Pin always includes three features: An Image, a description and a link. Any account on Pinterest can hold up to 200,000 Pins and the ideas that you have pinned to your boards can also be pinned by other users to their own boards.
You can Pin images that you own and images owned by others. You can also Pin ideas from websites on the net. Like other social networks, you can like a pin, comment on it and also save it to any of your boards. If you see an idea that you like on Pinterest and you eventually tried it out, you can let other users know that you have “Tried” it out and share your experience. Pinterest also allows you to share pins with your contacts and all pins on Pinterest can be repinned over and over again.
BOARDS: Again, a Board is a virtual place where you place all your Pins on Pinterest. You can have as many boards as you need to keep your Pins organized. Now, it is important to note that Pinterest Boards are always owned by one person or account but these Boards can be shared and other users can also pin ideas to your Boards. Boards that are shared are popularly known as group boards that people use to collaborate and get responses from their colleagues, friends, partners and clients. Users are allowed to have up to 500 boards on one account and boards can also be made secret so that it can be seen by only you and the people that follow you.
Boards can also be named and can contain a description and a cover picture (which could be any one of the pictures on the board).
So, when you want to sign up to Pinterest, all you need to do is visit their website or download their mobile application and create an account using your email address and a password. You can also choose to sign up via Facebook. If you want to use Pinterest for business, you can create a business account and if you already have a personal account, you can convert it to a business account which is a better option because, with the Pinterest Business Account, you get to create ads and also have free access to your Pinterest Analytics.
Your Pinterest Profile contains your Boards, your Pins and all your preferred settings. Some of your personal information is made public by default which means that anyone can see them like your Username, Your registered Name or Business Name, your “About You” description and your website address. The number of followers you have and the number of people you are following is also public information same as your Profile Picture and Showcase Boards.
When you follow someone or a board on Pinterest, some of the Pins from that board will start to show up on your feed and Pinterest will also begin to show you similar content. It is vice versa when other users follow your board or account.
RELIABILITY AND SUPPORT
When you encounter any challenge in the course of using Pinterest and you need the assistance of their support staff, just visit www.help.pinterest.com/en to access their help and support page. On this page, you will find a lot of articles which contain solutions to the most frequent issues most of their members encounter. Pinterest review by users:
- Jerry Says:
I have always loved Pinterest especially because I get a lot of ideas and inspiration from here. I have saved a lot of Pins since I started using Pinterest but I am not comfortable with the new update. Most of my favourite short cuts are gone and it is no longer as fun as it used to be back in the day before the update.
- Lionel Says:
A couple of new features that were added to this application has made me fall in love with it more. For instance, I absolutely love the fact that I can break my boards into smaller sections hence making my boards more organized and specific.
- Gina Says:
Pinterest allows anyone to share anything they choose to and it is a place where I have come to learn a lot of creative methods. It has also exposed me to different styles and ideas. The learning experience I have gained from this platform cannot be overemphasized.
- Amber Says:
I Love Pinterest! And I don’t think I will ever stop loving this application because I can find almost anything here and the level of inspiration is amazing. If I could, I would recommend that the administrators look into the pins more to ensure that they have a link attached.
- Elegance Says:
Pinterest has always been my go-to the application whenever I needed new ideas on any topic and I would scroll for hours on end looking at pictures and saving pins to my board but now, I can’t save these pictures directly to my gallery like I used to. I have also been having great difficulty trying to view my Pins since the update and I would be very grateful if this could be rectified.

I had a board there called "My Fan Fiction" which linked to various chapters of my fan fiction over at FanFiction. I had to delete that board since Pinterest has now decided that such links "may lead to spam", and won't allow them to connect.
Geez! I can't even promote my own work over on Pinterest anymore (Facebook will let me. Twitter will let me. DeviantArt will let me. What makes Pinterest so high and mighty?!)
I am disappointed. I try and do a variety of boards so that there is something for everybody, and I follow people who are following me. But, my followers have been drifting away. I'm very much considering right now if Pinterest is still worth my time.
I loved Pinterest in the beginning. People shared ideas, projects, places to travel and so much more. Now it is just one big commercial. Sad because the people who started Pinterest had a wonderful idea. I know that the ads pay for the information, but now there is very little information. Pinterest and Goggle have sold out. Thank you for the good times and enjoy your wealth.
They suspended my account 2 times i don't even bother more!!!
Always when i send email to creators responds is same.
Pinterest is unfairly censoring Pro-Life, Christian, and holistic health content. They have banned Live Action and Lila Rose from their site. They have also labelled LiveAction.org content from pinners as "porn", which is complete rubbish.
Until they reverse this decision I am using my Pinterest only to share Pro-Life content, at least until they delete my account too!
Loved it... until I had to complain the someone else had made an account using MY email address {there were several accounts with the same name piggybacking off other email addresses} they then decided to deactivate my account wouldn't reinstate it and wouldn't tell me why. Aside from the obvious security problem they have the customer service is poor.
Pinterest now censors free thought. They close accounts and ban anyone who dares to even think about vaccine choice, holistic health care, alternative health choices, questioning the ‘authority’ of the politically powerful CDC, etc. Pinterest app and Pinterest itself now suuuuuuuucks. I refuse to be censored. I refuse to allow a crappy, porn-filled internet social platform to determine what is “misinformation” or “fake news”, while pretending to ‘potect me from harmful advice’. Such obvious censorship of thought, ideas and info sharing. I am closing my Pinterest account. Screw them! And screw all their ads & porn!
