Gamiss is an international online fashion clothing store that says that it has “everything you want or need to get fashion forward”.

That will mean that the fashion store has an extensive selection of the very latest high-quality fashion products. The big question is whether this is just a marketing blurb, or whether Gamiss actually has high-quality fashion products t move your fashion movement forward.

If the store does have the “product”, what about the service? Does it offer quality service (like fast delivery, easy returns, effective customer service, and more) that we’ll expect of an ideal online fashion store? In the first place, is Gamiss a genuine store or just another scam store?

Gamiss ticks this box because it has been operating since 2011. Given the publicity around Gamiss, if it was a scam, it will simply disappear, but it has stood still.

However, the most important check of legitimacy is fitness for purpose. In our experience, only legit stores actually deliver what it purports to deliver. Gamiss purports to deliver high-quality items at lowest prices. As we documented in the complaint section, you can sometimes get high-quality products in Gamiss, and there is no doubt that Gamiss prices are actually the lowest prices. Thus, to an extent, Gamiss ticks this box.

That said; it’s clear that Gamiss is actually a legit online fashion store. It’s powered by a 100% legal company, it is internationally known, it has a long operating record, and it occasionally serves high-quality products at the lowest prices.

Is Gamiss safe?

Gamiss is safe. An online fashion store should also be safe. That is, it should protect the sensitive information that users’ share with it, which includes personal data and credit card detail. If such information leaks out, customers could be defrauded or worse.

The above shows that Gamiss was not joking when it talks of having thousands of product lines. You’ll find virtually every fashion articles in the store. It’s also a big advantage that Gamiss caters to almost everyone in the family (women, men, and kids); as well as a range of sizes from Petite to Plus Size and everything in between. Also, Gamiss is not just a fashion store; as it holds more than apparel, and fashion accessories. It also holds tons of home items.

Inventory Size

In the fashion world, having a wide product range is not enough; the ideal online store will also have to have a large inventory of each product type. That is, it should not be enough that a fashion store has shoes, you’ll want them to also have different types, styles, colours, etc of shoes. With a large inventory of each product type, when shopping a particular product, you are more likely to find what appeals to you no matter your colour, style, or material preferences.

Thankfully, Gamiss more than ticks the box in this regards. For example, at the time of writing this review, in the women category, Gamiss had: over 4,300 dresses, over 1,400 hoodies and sweatshirts, over 230 pants, over 180 skirts. With hundreds and even thousands of items of each product type, you’re sure to find something that you’ll like.

The other fashion product categories were also well-stocked. For example, in the men’s category, there were over 1,200 shirts, over 800 pants, and over 540 cardigans and sweaters. In the jewellery category, you’ll find over 260 necklaces, and over 190 earrings. In the hair category, you’ll find over 110 synthetic wigs, and over 110 human hair wigs. The non-fashion product categories were also well-stocked. For example, we found over 500 items in the toys section, and over 80 items in the pet supply section.

Pricing and Related Policies

Pricing

Everyone wants to look good, but not everyone will want to pay a premium to look good. In fact, we don’t think that looking good should be costing a premium in the first place. Thus, the ideal online store will be one that provides high-quality products at very reasonable prices.

Gamiss does excellently in this regards. In fact, its stated aim is to give customers “the lowest price”. To that end Gamiss leverage an extensive worldwide network of professional manufacturers, factories, and distributors to be able to offer products at direct factory prices.

The prices you’ll see when shopping will seem too good to be true. Faux Suede skirts for $5.07, maxi dresses for about $5.00, high heel shoes for under $20, are some of the ridiculously low prices you’ll find in Gamiss. That said; whether you are buying apparel, fashion accessories, or home items, you’ll be hard-pressed to find another store that can beat the prices of Gamiss.

Promotions

Shoppers always want to get the best deals possible. Thus, shops that run promotions are attractive, as these promotions allow shoppers to get items for free or for less than the items’ full prices. That said; the ideal online fashion store will run regular promotions. Gamiss does well in this regards.

Typical of promotions generous stores, the landing page of the Gamiss website is full of promotional offers. Usually, the offer are time-specific and change from time to time, so you’ll have to keep checking the website to know what promotion is available at any particular time. Some of the offers at the time writing this review are:

• Buy More Save More – where you’ll get $3 off if you buy two of select items, get $5 off if you buy 3 of the items, and get $9 off if you buy 4 of the items
• Buy More Save More (on Spring clothing) – where for spring apparel that you buy, you’ll get 10% off if you buy 1, 15% off if you buy 2, and 20% off if you buy 3 respectively

The website also advertised a different sales campaign. There was the “flash Sale” where you can get apparel from $1.99; there was the “Hot Sale” where you can get apparel from $6.99; there was the “Final Clearance” where you can get as much as 90% off many items, and more.

If you’ll not want to be always checking the Gamiss site for its best deals, you can simply register for its deals alerts. At the time of this review, we were teased with a $3 discount to submit our email address for the alert emails. As a new user, we were rewarded with a 10% discount when making our first Gamiss purchase.

Payment Method

Paying for your order shouldn’t be difficult, so you’ll want the ideal store to support a range of convenient payment method. Gamiss does relatively well in this regard.

You can pay for your Gamiss order using wire transfer, PayPal, and many of the popular credit and debit cards (such as Visa, Master Card, Discover Card, American Express, Maestro, and Diners Club). Gamiss definitely supports more payment methods than many online fashion stores. Most importantly, with the supported payment methods, you should not have hassle-free payments when shopping in Gamiss no matter where you are resident.

Shipping

A very important consideration when looking at online fashion stores is shipping. If an online store does not ship to where you’ll want to receive delivery of an order, it’ll be difficult or cost-prohibitive to receive the order. Thus you want the ideal store to ship merchandise to many locations across the world so that your location is more likely to be served.

Gamiss does well in this regards, ships products all over the world. Its worldwide coverage spans North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, and more.

Shipping Times

The ideal online store should reasonable delivery times so that customers who make online purchases can get their package as fast as possible.

Total delivery times have two elements – order processing time (which is how long after placing an order before it is dispatched), and shipping time (which is how long it’ll take after dispatch for the customer to receive the package). You’ll want both times to be relatively fast.

For Gamiss, there is an order processing time of three business days. This already tells you that you cannot receive the purchased item the same day it is ordered, or a day or two after order placement. After the order leaves Gamiss’ fulfilment centre, at least three days after payment is received, how long it takes in transit will depend on the shipping option chosen and the country the order is shipping to.

Gamiss supports three shipping options – Flat Rate Shipping, Standard Shipping, and Expedited Shipping.

• For Expedited Shipping, you should expect the order within 3 – 7 working days no matter the shipping address.
• For Standard Shipping, orders are delivered within 7 – 10 working days for most shipping addresses, but delivered within 7 – 15 business days to addresses in Russia, South America and Latin America
• For Flat Rate Shipping: orders shipping to the US and Canada are delivered within 8 -25 business days; orders shipping to Russia, South America and Latin America are delivered within 15 – 35 business days, while orders to other countries (Europe, Oceania, Asia, etc) are delivered within 10 – 25 business days

Shipping Costs

You’ll want to consider how much it’ll take for your order to be delivered to your shipping address. In this regards, your ideal online fashion store will have a shipping cost that is as low as possible. The lowest possible cost is zero (which is free shipping). Unfortunately, Gamiss does not offer that.

You’ll have to pay for shipping to buy from Gamiss. Shipping cost is dependent on the shipping option is chosen, the destination the order is shipping to, and the make of your order (that is the number of items ordered, its total weight, and size).

Thus, you’ll find that smaller items will cost less to ship than larger or more expensive items. For example, for our test purchase, we picked a $4.68 Tank top into our shopping cart, and we were quoted $3.36 for Flat Rate shipping and $43.16 for Expedited shipping. When we picked a $25.82 priced Vintage Dress (definitely smaller than the Tank Top), we were quoted $7.91 for Flat Rate shipping and $43.16 for Expedited Shipping.

In terms of competitiveness, the shipping costs of Gamiss are relatively okay; but they can easily become relatively expensive as the number of your purchase increase. For example, in our trial $25.82 priced item; when we ordered two, Flat-Rate Shipping became $15.66 (almost doubling), and Expedited Shipping became $52.74. When we increased our order to 3, Flat-Rate Shipping jumped to $23.40, but Expedited Shipping remained the same at $52.74.

Returns

It’s now almost impossible for a regular online fashion store to be competitive without allowing returns. This is because there are many reasons why a customer will not be satisfied with the item delivered; and will rather return it to the store. Thus, the ideal online store should accept such returned items and either process a refund or issue a replacement. Thankfully, Gamiss accepts returns. It is one protection that the buyer has. That is, if you are not totally satisfied with a Gamiss purchase, you can return it to the store. What follows is an in-depth analysis of Gamiss’ return policy.

Return Window

Any store that accepts returns will only accept returned items that get to them within a timeframe. You’ll want a long period so that you’ll not run the risk of your unwanted item getting back to the store late and being rejected. This is especially important if you are an international shopper. For example, Gamiss is based in China; thus, for many customers, return shipping will be taking a long trip to China.

Gamiss’ return window is 30 days from the delivery date. That is, every Gamiss item that you are not satisfied with and want to return must get to the store’s fulfilment centre at most 30 days from the date it was delivered to you.

Returnable Items

You’ll want to be able to return any item that you purchase from an online store, but that is hardly the case as almost all stores exempt some items from returns. However, you’ll want the restricted items to be few to not rule out many items from being returnable.

In the case of Gamiss, any item falling into the following categories cannot be returned: underwear/ women’s intimates, swimwear, earrings, and sales items.

Generally, items like intimates, swimwear and pierced jewellery have returns restrictions for hygiene reasons. However, stores with very friendly return policies will allow customers to return these items as long as the hygiene strip is unbroken. This makes Gamiss’ no-no on the return of these items unfriendly. Also, sales items usually have returned restrictions, but the fashion stores out there with the very friendly return policies allow the return of sales items but with a reduced return window. Most times, the return window for sales items is half the return window of regular items. That said; Gamiss’ no-no on the return of sales items also comes out as unfriendly. It’s no news that the Sales campaigns floor Gamiss prices to unbelievably low prices, and that most customers to Gamiss will be picking the Sales items. Thus, being unable to return these items if found to be unsatisfactory can only be unfriendly.

That said; for all items that are eligible for returns, certain conditions must be met. Items to be returned must be in the conditions they were when delivered. That is, returns must be unworn, unwashed or undamaged; and all tags and labels must be intact.

Return Process

Being able to return an item to an online store is not enough. You’ll want to always meet a smooth and easy return process. Gamiss does so-so in this regards.

If you decide that you must return a Gamiss order, the first thing to do is to contact the store’s Support Center, stating your intention, reasons, the order’s number, and the item’s code. If you’re contesting that the item is damaged, faulty or not as described, you’ll have to also attach pictures to clearly communicate the problem(s). Gamiss will then review your complaint, and communicate you. This means that Gamiss will have to approve of a return before you can proceed to ship an item back to the store.

It should be said that with Gamiss, when you are unsatisfied with an item, the solutions that Gamiss can have with you include; to return it and get a full refund or a replacement or to keep it and get a partial refund.

Cost of Return

You will not want to be prevented from returning an unwanted item because returning it is expensive. Thus, you’ll want the return cost to be as low as possible. The lowest possible cost is zero, which is free returns.

However, in Gamiss, returns are not free except the reason for the return is a fault of the store. For example, if the item delivered to you is a wrong item, or is damaged, or is looks different from its portrayal (description and images), Gamiss will take full responsibility. In such cases, the store will refund you the return shipping cost; and where you request a replacement, it will also ship the replacement item to you free of charge.

However, when you’re returning an item is not because of a mistake of Gamiss, you’ll bear all return costs. For example, you do not like the item delivered, or it does not fit (a wrong size has been ordered). In such cases, you’ll pay to return the unwanted item, and you’ll receive a full refund; if you want a replacement item, you’ll also pay to have it shipped to you.

Using Gamiss

Signing Up

To make purchases from Gamiss, you’ll need to have an account. This is somewhat disappointing as some customers do not like registering in every online platform. What is more, many online fashion stores cater to such customers by allowing “guest purchases”; that is, being able to buy from the store without signing up.

When you move beyond the disappointment of being forced to signup up, you’ll find that the process itself is hassle-free. Click on the “Sign in” button in the Gamiss website to open a registration page, where you only need to nominate a username and a password.

Ordering

It’s also relatively easy to pick items from Gamiss. You can go through the product categories to find what you want. Alternatively, you can use the search tool; simply type in what you want, and you’ll be shown a list of related items.

You can click on a particular item, which will take you to its description page where you can view more details and images of the item. If you decide on it, simply add it to your bag. You can proceed to your shopping cart at any time to view all you’ve selected into it by simply clicking on the bag icon on the page. In your cart, you’ll find a box to enter a promotional coupon. You can also proceed to checkout, and make payment.

We liked that you can get a tracking number so that you can monitor your order. However, it will seem that the tracking number does not come with the Flat Rate shipping option (which is the cheapest shipping option).

When making our trial purchase, for the Flat Rate shipping option, there is the choice to add tracking at an added cost ($1.99); but for the other more expensive shipping options, there was no option to add tracking. We didn’t like that for one to be able to track his/ her order, he/ she has to pay the premium of the Expedited shipping options or buy tracking as an add-on when using Flat Rate Shipping.

Saving Opportunities

One of the things you’ll like about Gamiss is that it has some opportunities for savings. One of such is its G Points, which is like a loyalty program. As you use Gamiss you accumulate G Points which you can later redeem as a discount.

The various ways of earning G Points are as follows:

• Registration – if you register to use Gamiss, you’ll be rewarded with 10 G Points
• Shopping – As you make purchases from Gamiss, you’ll be rewarded with G Points equivalent to the product’s cost. That is, if you purchase a $15 item, you’ll be rewarded with 15 G Points
• Text Review – If you write a review of an item purchased from Gamiss, you’ll be rewarded with 10 G Points
• Product Photos – if you post a product review with photos, you’ll be rewarded with 20 G Points
• Photo Upload – If you upload your Avatar in the first update of your Gamiss profile (in My Account), you’ll be rewarded with 10 G Points

With that, you can see that you can earn G Points endlessly. Just keep making purchases and keep posting the reviews (both text and photos). However, you should know that the reviews are approved by Gamiss before they are published.

When using your G Points, the minimum amount of G Points that is redeemable is 50, which is the equivalent of $1.00 (50 G Points = $1.00). However, G Points can only be used to discount 30% of the cost of any item. Thus, when buying an item priced at $10, even if you’ve accumulated 1,000 G Points, you can only use 150 G Points on that particular purchase, which is the equivalent of 30% of the item’s cost. This ensures that your own money goes into any purchase.

Customer Support Service

The ideal online fashion store should provide for answering questions that people will have as well as resolving issues that customers may have. In this regards, there are different support channels supported by Gamiss.

The first way to get answers in Gamiss is its FAQ page. The FAQ holds many short self-help articles that’ll answer many of the questions that a lot of persons will have. That is, if you send an email enquiry, you should expect to get answers within 24 hours. If Gamiss lives up to this, it will be one of the most responsive customer support services. However, there are many reports to the contrary as will be highlighted in the complaints section.

Complaints

Quality of products

One of the biggest complaints you’ll find of Gamiss is that of poor quality, chief among this is that the delivered item looks nothing like its description (or images). There are too many cases of these that this comes out as a problem plaguing the store rather than a one-off or coincidental occurrence.

However, it should be said that with Gamiss and other stores like it with floored prices, it’s a case of “you get what you pay for”. Despite Gamiss advert blurb of providing high-quality products at the lowest prices; its attraction is the latter (lowest prices) rather than the former (high-quality products).

However, this does not mean that Gamiss packs un-wearable poor quality items. You can actually get wonderful quality items from the store at its tantalizingly low prices. However, for every order, the item that gets delivered to you could easily swing either way. Thus, in terms of quality products, it’s really “shoot and miss” with Gamiss.

It should also be mentioned that it is this “shoot and miss” case that makes many persons label Gamiss a scam in many online reviews. Persons who buy from Gamiss and “misses” by getting shoddy products will feel ripped off and go on the scam rant.

Late Delivery

One recurring complaint about Gamiss is that of late delivery. Know that Gamiss already advertises relatively long delivery times.
